How to Obtain a Croatian Passport

Are you are Croatian citizen who lives abroad? If so, then you can apply through your nearest Croatian consulate or embassy for a Croatian passport. In order to apply for the passport, you should have been residing in your present country of residence for a minimum of three months.

First and foremost, you must collect your materials. If it is your first time to apply for a Croatian passport, it is required that you provide proof of Croatian citizenship. A Croatian citizenship paperwork or certificate, which presents the official decision of the Minister of the Interior to grant you a Croatian citizenship, can be used. Moreover, you must present the original copy of your birth certificate. In case you were not born in Croatia, you must show a sealed and certified Croatian translation of your birth certificate. Lastly, provide two 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm photos and your proof of three-month residence.

You must contact your nearest Croatian consulate or embassy. A first-time application for a Croatian passport should be done in person. Then, ask a consular service whether present application forms can be sent to you via mail or not, so you can fill those papers out before your interview. You should set up an interview for your passport application and ask about how you need to pay the application fee.
